Traditional Metal Braces
Traditional metal braces are the most common type of braces and are more comfortable today than ever before. Made of high-grade stainless steel, metal braces straighten your teeth using metal brackets and archwires. With metal braces, you have the option of adding colored elastics (rubber bands) for a more unique and colorful smile.
Self-Ligating Braces
Self-ligating braces are made from the same materials as traditional braces. However, self-ligating braces do not require the use of elastics, meaning fewer appointments and less friction being placed on the tooth. Self-ligating braces come with traditional metal, ceramic, or clear brackets. They are the same size as metal braces, but use a specialized clip in place of elastics to help the archwire guide teeth into place. The clip helps reduce the amount of pressure being placed on the tooth, and requires fewer adjustments because there are no elastics to replace.
Clear (Ceramic) Braces
Ceramic braces are made of translucent ceramic material that blends with your teeth and will resist staining and discoloration throughout your treatment. Dr. Razavi has years of experience using ceramic braces in both traditional and self-ligating techniques.
Clear Aligners
Clear aligners are a series of invisible, removable, and comfortable acrylic trays that straighten your teeth like braces. Not only are the aligners invisible, they are removable, so you can eat and drink what you want while in treatment, plus brushing and flossing are less of a hassle. The aligners are comfortable and have no metal to cause mouth abrasions during treatment.
Lingual Braces
Invisible Incognito braces are customized to fit on the back side of your teeth so that no one will ever know you are wearing braces unless you tell them! Recognized as a Center of Excellence for the Incognito system, Palladium Orthodontics shows a commitment to being one of Canada's leading providers of this cutting edge technology to deliver truly invisible braces.
Forsus™
The Forsus Fatigue Resistant Device helps promote growth in adolescents, helping to eliminate excessive overbites, improve the fit of teeth, and possibly prevent the need for jaw surgery. The springs apply continuous light forces without any need to make daily adjustments. It is placed in one appointment in the back of the mouth so is not highly visible to others and is easy to clean.
Temporary Anchorage Device (TAD)
Temporary anchorage devices, or TADs, are miniature titanium screws used in the mouth to serve as an anchor for moving specific teeth in the most controlled and predictable way possible. The device is about half as long as your thumbnail and no wider than the head of a pin. These anchors are used in addition to braces for certain cases and are placed painlessly in our office by Dr. Razavi or Dr. Jen.
